Kurz vor dem Abflug

Nun ist es bald soweit. Am 23 Januar werde ich mit 20 anderen Schülern/-innen ab Hamburg nach Neuseeland fliegen. In den letzten fünf Wochen ist einiges passiert.

Am 2.12.17 fand für alle ein fünfstündiges Vorbereitungsseminar in Hamburg statt. Einige Schüler/-innen werden auch nach Kanada, Irland oder Australien  fliegen. Dort wurden wir über Regeln im Ausland, sowie über mögliche NoGo´s, Rituale, die neuseeländische Kultur und über mögliche Probleme aufgeklärt. Dabei wurden Kontakte geknüpft und Telefonnummern ausgetauscht. Am Ende machten wir ein Gruppenbild und verabschiedeten uns. Bald werden wir uns  auf den Weg in ein neues Land wiedersehen.

Drei Wochen nach dem Seminar bekam ich dann endlich die Kontaktadresse meiner Gastfamilie, worauf ich schon sehr gespannt war. Natürlich habe ich sofort per Mail Kontakt zu meiner zukünftigen Gastfamilie aufgenommen. Ich habe mich riesig gefreut, als kurze Zeit später die Antwort aus Neuseeland kam. Ab dem Zeitpunkt an haben wir sehr häufig geschrieben und Fotos ausgetauscht. Alle Wünsche, die ich vorher geäußert habe, sind in Erfüllung gegangen. Neben zwei kleinen Gastbrüdern (5,10) werde ich auch einen internationalen Gastbruder haben (15), der aus Hongkong kommt und seit mittlerweile mehr als einem halben Jahr in Neuseeland ist.

Inzwischen liegen alle notwendigen Papiere, wie die Unterlagen der Schule, sowie das onlinebeantragte Visum bereit und meine neubeantragte Prepaidkarte bereit. Hin- und Rückfflug sind gebucht. Ein paar Neuseelanddollar habe ich auch schon bekommen, zudem habe ich noch ein paar Klamotten, sowie Gastgeschenke eingekauft.

Just before the depature

At the 23th I will fly with 20 other students from Hamburg to New Zealand. In the last five weeks many is happened.

 At the 2nd December there was a preparing seminar in Hamburg for students who will fly to Canada, Australia, Ireland and to New Zealand. As we were there, we were informed about the rules abroad, furthermore about the No-Go´s, the rituals, the culture in New Zealand and we also clarified possible problems. We also linked new contacts and exchanged the telephone number of each other. At the end we made an group photo and saying goodbye. Soon we will see each other again, at the way in a new country.

Three weeks after the seminar, I got the contact address for my host family. I was really excited to get my host family. Of course I wrote an email instantly to get more informations and photos. I was really happy, when the answer was coming from New Zealand. From this time on we wrote and exchange pictures very often. All wishes that I had, become true. I have two host brothers (5,10) and another international student from Hong Kong (15). He is already than a half year in New Zealand.

Meanwhile I have all important documents, like documents for school, the visa and my new prepaid mastercard.Outward and inward flight are booked. I already have a few dollar, additionally  I bought some clothes and presents for my host family.
