Kajak fahren auf dem Whanganui River
Gute zweieinhalb Stunden gepaddelt, erreichten
Kayaking on the Whanganui River
Today was our next trip where we went kayaking. This time we paddled on the
Whanganui River. The weather was relatively good, a bit windy, but not too
cold.
After we had unloaded our kayaks we climbed directly in them and paddled
away. At first it was a bit difficult to get ahead, because we paddled against
the current and had headwind. After a few minutes it got better and you got
used to paddled against the current.
Good two and a half hours later , we
reached a playground where we had our lunch break. A few of us felt younger
again and rocked or walked on the seesaw. Nice, if you remember good old
times. After half an hour we had to
leave the playground unfortunately, because it continued with kayaking.
This
time we had tailwind and paddled with the current. Again and again we passed
people who waved us and took pictures of us. The paddle steamer, which often
rides on the Whanganui River, also drove past us. At 13:30 the whole fun was
already over. For many, the arms hurt from the paddling, but that was worth it
for most of them.
